I’m a facilitator, an educator, a coach. I’m a strategist, a change-agent, and often, a learner. I am a collaborator working at the intersections of organizational effectiveness and leadership + team development through the lens of sustainability. I create transformative and meaningful systems change for social change.
A leader in equity and inclusion, I’ve created and led workshops on culturally responsive teaching, anti-oppressive practices in program design and challenging implicit bias in local government and municipalities. I’ve facilitated discussions on identity, power & privilege, dimensions of racism, and have led strategy workshops and visioning sessions.
I also use my knack for event planning to create unique and fun experiential learning experiences and pathways for growth. I’ve produced Eco-Fashion shows to raise awareness on the impact of consumption and waste on our environment; designed DEIJ-focused “Amazing Race” team-building activities in different cities; and as a thought leader, presented at conferences and facilitated retreats.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Sustainability. I began my career in change management, working for and learning from leaders in the industry for almost a decade, and then transitioned to supporting and leading school, community, and organization transformations since 2010.
Lens of Sustainability
My work is guided by the four pillars of sustainability – environmental integrity, economic vitality, social & racial equity, and human dignity, always.
Systems-Thinking
I apply a holistic approach, examining patterns and trends, interconnectedness of parts. Underlying structures that hold systems in place and shifts in mental models needed for change.
Collaborative Partnership
I believe that in order to create lasting, enduring change, we must create together, design together, plan and implement together.
Compassionate Leadership
I care about people. Holding space for what needs attention without judgement. Power shifting and sharing. Criticality with humanity.
If you want volunteers, throw a party!
Change is hard, but it can also be [fun, engaging, inspiring.] I'm innovative and creative when ideating and thoughtful and inclusive in my process. I create conditions for self-empowerment, for happiness & joy.
Agility + Expertise
I have vast experience in various industries and sectors and have a unique ability to adapt and customize frameworks and strategies to your environment.
"Tina is amazing to work with and was instrumental in the transformation of our Plant Protection Program. With her invaluable expertise and guidance, we created a Theory of Change framework and strategic plan that helped us set realistic goals and delineate a clear path to increase the impact of our work. I cannot recommend Tina enough. She is insightful, an amazing communicator, and deeply committed to helping organizations achieve their goals." - Marisol from American Public Gardens Association
"Tina shared her wisdom on the history of racism in the conservation movement with my colleagues at Washington’s National Park Fund with grace and humility. She asked challenging questions in a clear, easy to understand way and ensured we could move forward with our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in a thoughtful and focused approach. I would recommend Tina Wong in a heartbeat to those, like us, who need help advancing this important work."
- Sharon from Washington's National Park Fund
"Tina has been an amazing and needed asset to growing our internal and external Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. She is a true driver, doer, and thinker when it comes to larger systems change and thinking. Without her thought leadership and asking of tough and critical questions, we would have not advance as far and as quickly as we have. Her project, program, and staff management has also led to great and needed institutional change that we have all embraced and welcomed. " - Heather from National Wildlife Federation
"...I gained a deep appreciation for Tina as a person and someone committed to and skilled at helping people and organizations move forward in their equity, inclusion, and justice journey. She meets people where they are and gently, but directly, encourages their growth and development. She does so with people across their various identities and prioritizes building relationships before tasks. Tina has provided leadership in the Sierra Club’s effort to create a more diverse and inclusive organization..." - Bob from Sierra Club
